About JacquiWhen I lived in Japan, my Japanese friends and coworkers often described me as "akarui" (bright and cheerful), so I thought it was the perfect name for my Japanese teaching business.I went to Japan with hardly Japanese and having failed to learn French and Norwegian, my expectations for learning Japanese were low. But I made friends and that desire to connect is what drove my Japanese study. Focusing on connection above grammar or vocabulary made language learning so much more fun - and so much more successful. That's what I bring to my lessons - all of the grammar and vocabulary is to help you connect more in Japanese.I also have experience working with special needs and diverse minds, so my teaching style is inclusive and I can adapt to each students' needs and learning preferences.
